Roll-out Services

The implementation and roll-out of any new solution brings a number of challenges to you as a customer trying to concentrate on core business. As you will probably roll out a system every 5 to 7 years it is uneconomical to maintain the internal IT resources and skills required to manage an intensive roll-out programme from the internal IT organisation. This often results in seconding-in resources at a cost to other projects and services, employing temporary resources, or using expensive consultants to fill the gaps - leading to both a poor implementation programme and a drop-off in the delivery of day-to-day services.

To respond to the business needs of customers during this challenging time, AVC has developed a process for managed roll-out services within its Managed Services portfolio. This service would allow you to accelerate the roll-out, reduce risk, concentrate on maintaining business as usual and bring about the planned benefits of the new system earlier, thus seeing a greater return on your investment.

The managed roll-out services process is to go beyond the provision of traditional project management, configuration, logistics and roll-out services, to offer a fully integrated “end to end” programme, delivering many of the activities that are normally the responsibility of the client.

Implementation

AVC offers the benefits of a comprehensive, integrated implementation service.
This includes:
  • Hardware receipt and inventory creation.
  • Storage and stock management.
  • Hardware testing and DOA management.
  • Full store build and testing (including non-POS workstations and site-specific data – product files, promotions etc).
  • Delivery to site on day of installation.
  • Full system installation and support of user acceptance testing.
  • Removal and disposal of all packing materials and redundant equipment.
The AVC managed roll-out service includes full technical solution support throughout the installation, to ensure a fully working solution ready to trade.

We can also help reduce your risk by a phased installation, giving an early and independent install of the back office servers.

Service Integration and Handover

The managed roll-out service will be fully integrated with your business to ensure not just a successful implementation, but a solution that can be fully supported in-life. A full service handover process will be developed , documented and tested, to ensure that users are fully aware how to obtain help and support for system problems, and that all service providers are sufficiently prepared to take on the operational services.

Standard documentation will include:
  • Project management plan
  • Store communications plan
  • Escalation procedures
  • Sign-off procedures (e.g. for training, installation, etc.)
